Facts: Newcastle United's 2013-2014 season was a turbulent one under manager Alan Pardew, finishing 10th in the Premier League. Despite a strong start that saw the team in contention for European spots by mid-season, their form collapsed in the second half, leading to frustrations among fans. Key players like Yohan Cabaye and Loïc Rémy played pivotal roles early on, with Cabaye pulling the strings in midfield and Rémy finishing as the club’s top scorer with 14 league goals. However, Cabaye's sale to Paris Saint-Germain in January severely weakened the side, and the team struggled to maintain their momentum. Pardew's controversial touchline behavior, including a headbutting incident with Hull City's David Meyler, added further negative attention. Although they finished in the top half, the end-of-season slump and lack of squad depth raised concerns for the future.
